The kids decided that for their celebration, they wanted a pajama, stuffed animal and movie day! We watched Rudolph and were treated to madeline cookies from one of our wonderful families! The kids have been working hard around the classroom. They have been writing all about the moon, small moments and our elf, Peppermint. They have also been learning all about parts of numbers and using addition and subtraction. We are finishing up a unit on 5 and 10 relationships and will soon move on to addition and subtraction facts up to 20! They have also been working on kindness. We have been talking about how our words are powerful and they can really effect the others around them. Our elf brought us a kindness tree where she will catch kids doing good things and add a light to the tree. The kids are working really hard to be kind to one another and have been great problem solvers when an issue comes up. Over these past few months, these kids have been working really hard on their reading. After doing a few assessments, I have seen a huge growth in their abilities. They are often shocked that they can read signs around the room and are able to read the morning messages on their own. It has been fun to see the spark in their eye when they are feeling confident in their skills. I hope you are seeing that at home too! |
